The Marshal of the Realm, otherwise titled as just Marshal is the highest ceremonial office of the High Kingdom of Mediolaurentia and head of the court of chivalry. Having no political or military influence, despite the historical and usual connotations of the name, it is comparable to the offices of the contemporary Marshal of the realm of Sweden and British Earl Marshal. As head of the court of chivalry, an authority of largely ceremonial endeavors, the Marshal acts as a master of ceremonies of sorts, as a chief herald, a royal advisor and potentially personal secretary to the monarch.
The office of the Marshal was established on 15 August 2022 by archchancellor Chris Ramsay and king Alexander in pursuit of an outlet for armigerous matters, heraldry being a hobby shared by both. As such, and parallel to its aforesaid equivalents, the office as well as the court of chivalry is under the direct administration of the monarch under Constitution §12 which briefly states that the Crown is the fount of all honour.
