The Commonwealth of Liberta is a executive republic located in the United States and Canada. The Commonwealth was founded on June 8, 2018 by Andy Irons, who is the Emperor of Austrovia and King of Rutania
Currently, Liberta is under a provisional government led by Acting President Andy Irons and Acting Vice President Ashley Jaax. Once the provisional phase is over and a leader has been elected, Liberta will become an executive republic lead by an elected President and Legislature. Currently, the Libertian Parliament has not had any sessions or have voted on anything. The Libertian Supreme Court will be made up of judges appointed by the Head of State.
Liberta has territory in the United States and Canada. All territory so far are also apart of Austrovia and Iustus. Officially, Libertia has no administrative divisions due to its low population.
History
Libertia was founded on June 8, 2018 by Andy Irons. Ideas for Libertia began circulating around April 2018. Since he was the founder, Irons proclaimed himself Acting President until the government was set up. He then appointed Ashley Jaax as Acting Vice President.
On June 15, 2018 the Grand Libertian Referendum occurred. This referendum allowed citizens to choose their own government, names, and etc. On June 16, voting ended and results were published. Liberta was chosen to become an executive republic, with an elected Head of State. The people also chose to vote in favor of administrative divisions, an American culture and voted for an open election system.
Government
Currently, Liberta is under a provisional government until the people elected a legislature and head of state. Until then, the Acting President acts as the supreme power of the land and is comparable to a dictator. Currently, the Parliament has no real power until the executive republic is installed.
