The Liberal Party, officially the Liberal Party Union (LPU), commonly referred as the "national governing party" or just Liberal, is a centre to centre-left social liberalism political party in the United Ebareny. It is the fouding major party of Ebareny and the only current party of the House of State. The LPU was founded in 2022 by John V.C. as the first political party of the United Republic of Ebareny.
Principles
The principles of the LPU are based on liberalism as defined by various liberal theorists and include individual freedom for present and future generations, responsibility, human dignity, a just society, political freedom, religious freedom, national unity, equality of opportunity, cultural diversity, bilingualism, and multilateralism. After the creation, the LPU has been focusing on securing the civil rights of the United Ebareny citizens.
The LPU is a centre to centre-left wing and pursue a pacifist foreign policy.
History
Creation
The Liberal Party Union was founded on 23 March 2022 by the current chancellor, John V.C., as the first political party of the United Ebareny, although it was only registered the next day, 24 March 2022. Before the creation of the LPU, the United Ebareny had no political parties, and the House of State was only formed by Independents.
The Liberal Party Union was created with the purpose of ending the tradition of having no political parties in the United Ebareny, and mainly to encourage the creation of other political parties in the country.
Present
Since the creation of the Liberal Party Union, the LPU has had all the seats in the House of State as a de facto one-party system. Although no other parties have been officially registered or attempted to participate in the general elections.
