The Kingdom of Dominel, known colloquially as Dominel, is an autonomous territorial entity claiming to be a sovereign state, based in Norwich, often classified as a micronation by external observers. It consists of 145 square centimeters, and is enclaved entirely by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It was founded by the signing of the constitution by the first and reigning monarch, HM Queen Alexandra I, on 15 November 2020.
The Monarch is the head of state, and holds vast legislative, executive and judicial powers. Dominel is an elective monarchy, meaning that a new Monarch is democratically elected after the death of the previous. The current Monarch is HM Queen Alexandra I, who was not elected due to her position as the founder of the nation. The legislature of Dominel is the High Court, which advises and holds the Monarch accountable in addition to managing regular legislation and petitions. The three Founding Seats of the High Court are appointed by the Monarch.
Dominel has thus far established positive relationships with other micronations, including the Commonwealth of Naveria, Unified Royal States of Australis, Iceni Federal Republic, Republic of Ardenturia, and the Empire of Austenasia, the latter of which it is a Protected State of. All interactions have occurred online due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
