The Kichi–Vtuber conflict is a series of political, social, cultural and other conflicts between the Kichi government and the public and the vtuber community after the 3.31 Conflict. Since 2022, the relationship between Kichi and the vtuber community has been rather tense. Various factors have contributed to this, including different views on the 3.31 Conflict; etiquette issues in the Chinese vtuber community; and the different ideologies and values of Kichian and Chinese vtuber fans. More directly, there is resentment among the Kichian towards vtubers, especially the China-based Virtuareal.

Background

Initially, Kichi and the vtuber community coexisted in harmony because the government at the time did not consider vtubers to be a real threat to Kichi and had a pro-Chinese policy. However, since 2022, particularly in early April, tensions have arisen between Kichi and the Chinese vtuber community, and the outcome of the 3.31 Conflict has been the focus of Kichian discontent. Some at the time felt that the Kichi government's relatively hands-off attitude towards the vtuber community had changed dramatically as a result of the conflict, with some representatives even adopting increasingly strong rhetoric towards the vtuber community.
Kichi is politically and culturally influenced by western democracies as opposed to the values held by mainland Chinese residents, the main audience for Chinese vtubers. As a highly politically enlightened country, Kichi's values and political stances differ from those of mainland China, and Kichian resent the inappropriate behaviour of the majority of vtuber-loving Chinese, such as casually offending others and invading their privacy. Ideological differences in values are widely considered to be the main cause of conflict between the Kichi and vtuber communities.

Incidents

3.31 Conflict

On March 30, a Kichian who liked Vtuber was kicked out of the fan base due to his status. The next day Kichi declares war on the group "Shuqianer" (Imi's fans) , because they insult the micronational community, sparked a war. The incident ended in Kichi's defeat the next day. But the Kichi government has reportedly become less tolerant of vtubers.

Kichi army invaded form

On 2 May 2022, the Kichi army used technology to hack into the form used by Imi to count choral songs without warning, and within moments the flags of the Grand Duchy of Kichi and the Kichi National Army and thousands of pictures of chickens covered the entire page of the form. Once the Shuqianers realised the form had been hacked, they frantically deleted the images in an attempt to restore the form to its original state, and the battle raged on, before things came to an end that night when Imi set the form to read-only.

On October 25, 2023, with the graduation of Imi, the Federal President Ruo Shui issued the Federation Council Decree No. 1, announcing the abolition of the Vtuber Act.
