Jakeist Mushroomia, or Jakeist Mossia is a term used to describe the nearly two year period where Mushroomia was under the rule of Jake B., who ruled as de facto dictator of the country. The nation at this time was officially known as the Jakeist Republic of Moss. His reign was at first met with support, but quickly became widely opposed and despised due to his increasing attempts to seize total control, and gave way to the escalation of the ongoing Shroom Affair, which led to a civil war on 30 October 2017, which eventually led to Jake's downfall on 1 May 2018, ending his reign.
History
Consolidation of power
The Jakeist Republic of Mossia began on 1 September 2016 when Jake B. seized power in a self-coup started by Harold Duighan, and he was made the new Co-Leader, and the newly-founded Jakeist Faction became the ruling party, effectively making the nation a One-Party State, though Independent candidates could still run in elections. Jake B. eventually became the new Leader after the Jakeist Faction won decisively in the 2017 election, and Jake eventually began to radically reform the country.
Dictatorial rule
Jake first decided to strengthen his control by seizing ownership in the nation's many companies, specifically its commercial industry, which made up the entirety of its foreign trade at the time. This was at first met with no resistance, however, it grew with time. This was due to the fact that he began to essentially do whatever he wanted. This led to opposition growing gradually, and by late 2017, rebellions began brewing.
Civil war breaks out
By October 2017, Jake was in a bad place, the country was about to explode, and since elections were coming in 2018, it was looking like Jake was going to be ousted. However, despite this, he persisted. This was an evidently bad decision, as instead of suppressing opposition, he instead turned his closest supporters against him, and on 30 October 2017, Harold and Jake got into an intense argument that led to the country splitting into two and kicking off a civil war.
Gradual collapse
After that, in 2018 elections were held. This election was a victory, but it was costly for the Jakeist Faction, and showed that Jake's grip on power was slipping. He gradually lost the war over time, and in February 2018, he engaged in a battle with Harold which led to his forces being defeated, which ended with him surrendering on 1 May 2018, and his regime collapsed.
Aftermath
His regime was replaced with a transitional government afterwards, and his party was reduced to merely a small opposition party. He never regained power in the government, and his party was eventually dissolved in 2020 after he was exiled from the country.
Legacy
Politics
Jake's ideology, Jakeism, was characterized as a Totalitarian ideology where everyone was made to praise Jake, and where he controlled and influenced all aspects of life. This ideology has been compared to Stalinism, Juche, or Hoxhaism, as it is essentially the same thing as those ideologies, however it was not specifically a Marxist-Leninist ideology, even though the country itself was officially, and still is, following that framework. The ideology has not had any influence since 2020, and is largely irrelevant in modern Mushroomian politics.
Economy
The economy under Jake's regime was quite successful, and grew immensely throughout his reign. The nation peaked at $800 in GDP and $133 in GDP per capita in 2018, right around the downfall of his regime. However, since then, the economy has slowly declined since then. However, anything related economically has been found to have nothing to do with the regime in question, rather, it is purely coincidental, and nothing inherently special.
