Henry VII (Joseph Henry Thomas; born 23 March 1954) is King of Exeter and other Crown Dependencies and Associated lands.
Henry was born in Santander, Spain, as the first child of King Thomas IV and Queen Mercedes. His father established the throne in 1969, making Henry the heir apparent. He was educated privately at home and began to undertake public duties, he then began to found many companies and businesses. In May 1975, he married Angela Fernandez, and their marriage lasted 12 years until their divorce in 1987, he was also granted the title of Prince of Kent. They had four children: Joseph, Prince of Kent; Princess Monica; Prince Louis, Duke of Minchington; and Prince Jonathan, Duke of Hayne.
When his father died in 1990, Henry—then 36 years old—became King of Exeter. Henry has reigned as a constitutional monarch through major political changes such as the Troubles of independence.
Reign
Accession and coronation
Thomas IV's health declined during 1985, and Henry frequently stood in for him at public events, until his father's death in 1990. He thereafter chose to reign under the name of Henry VII. On 5 March 1990, the coronation ceremony was held in Beaufort Palace, some peers of the Realm attended the ceremony amongst other commoners.
Joseph, Prince of Kent and Prince James as new heir
On 7 September 1979, Henry VII's first son Prince Joseph was born, and he immediately became the heir apparent to the throne. In 1997 he was crowned Prince of Kent, title reserved for the heir apparent to the throne. Throughout his life, he was never able to find a partner or a consort whom to have children with, this caused an issue with the line of succession which made King Henry have to decide rather Prince Joseph should or should not inherit the throne. Parliament saw as a more suitable candidate the then Viscount Ashcot, James Fitz-James Stuart, now not only a Prince through the Prince James Act of 2022, and also Duke of Wolverton. This was greatly accepted by the family, since the rest of the family did not really want to become rulers of Exeter.
