Harvey Galloway is an American Micronationalist and is the current Prince and Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Saint George. He also serves as Chief Executive of New Victoria, Local Councilor of Yu-Xia, Minister of Health of Yu-Xia, and formerly served on the Global Council of Yu-Xia and Grand Senate of Elysium.
Micronational career
Crowned Republic of Yu-Xia
Galloway's Career within Yu-Xia started when he was first elected to the Global Council and took office on the 17th of October 2020. He tied for first winning 56.3% of approval vote. He remained active within the Global Council until he resigned to become Chief Executive of New Victoria on the 14th of December 2020. Upon his appointment he became a member of the Local Council and proposed the Ministries Reformation Act of 2021. Since then, he has led the New Victoria Action Party within the Local Council where his party occupies 5 out of the 21 seats and controls 23.8% of the vote. Along with his duties on the Local Council he serves as Minister of Health being first appointed by Prime Minister Lily Larson and continuing under both the first and second governments of Prime Minister Nathan Jiang.
Autonomous City of New Victoria
On the 14th of December 2020, Galloway was appointed by Emperor Nathan Xia to administer the territory of New Victoria. He shortly thereafter created the Constitution of New Victoria and established its status as an Autonomous City within Yu-Xia. Galloway is considered the founding father of New Victoria and has been Chief Executive since formation. He formed the New Victoria Action Party which has been the ruling party in New Victoria since the first elections held in January 2021.
Galloway first envisioned New Victoria to be a financial hub for businesses located within Yu-Xia and to involve Yu-Xian citizens in government and political affairs. However, it was abandoned with the New Victoria Action Party focusing on a distinct culture and identity within Yu-Xia while promoting unionism. He has faced opposition with New Victoria from the pro-independence party Future New Victoria and their leader Joris Bohnson. Although Bohnson has stated that he supports the government and aligns himself with them on the Yu-Xian Local Council, he argues that Galloway should pursue outright independence and electoral reform within New Victoria. Besides this Galloway remains popular with the lowest vote share his party has received being 71.4% in the October 2021 New Victorian legislative election.
