Zakinesia, officially the People's Republic of Zakinesia and formerly the Grand Duchy of Zakinesia, is a Philippine micronation located in Batangas. It was founded by Zakia Jacob Precioso on October 25, 2023, with its capital in San Sebastian City.

Zakinesia is a former protectorate of Arlandica and a former member of the Santo Niño Cooperation Union (SNCU). It claims a score of 3.0, ranking 50th in the CGSC.

History

Foundation

Zakinesia, formerly known as Zakiland, gained independence on October 25, 2023. It began expanding throughout the Philippine islands, making contact with other Philippine micronations such as New Giphtonesia, Arlandica, and Curimae.

On October 27, 2023, a rebel group called the EFL rebelled against the Zakiland government, but by November 10, the rebellion was suppressed.

Arlandican annexation

On January 11, 2024, Zakinesia faced political turmoils. With the assistance of Zakia Precioso, an occupation authority was then established in San Sebastian City, supported by Precioso and Jerold I.

Independence

On January 15, 2024, Zakinesia gained independence from Arlandica, becoming the only micronation to achieve independence from Arlandica. Later, on January 25, both countries signed the Treaty of San Sebastian, and Zakinesia became a protectorate.

Zakinesia joined the SNCU on May 10, 2024, and signed the Treaty of Santo Niño alongside Courline and Arlandica. It was one of the first three micronations to sign the charter, making it a founding member.

On September 20, 2024, Zakinesia left the SNCU and withdrew from its protectorate status. To celebrate, they even changed their national flag.

According to the Royal Arlandican Intelligence Directorate (RAID), Zakinesia claimed to annex the territories of the former micronations Sunda Raya and UnitedLands. However, Arlandican authorities dismissed these claims, stating they did not observe any foreign intruders in those provinces.[1]

Territory

Zakinesia controls two pieces of land: Mainland Zakinesia, where the capital San Sebastian City is located, and Islas del Trisha, both in the province of Batangas, Philippines.

Zakinesia also claims to own the following territories as puppet states: Nueva Zakinesia, Tropicana, Lémarita, Nusantara, Batuyangan, Madura, Arendelle, and Zakinesian Antarctic Territory. However, these claims are not recognized by several micronations and organizations, including Curimae and Santo Niño Cooperation Union (SNCU), as well as majority of the MicroWiki community.

Politics

Zakinesia is a socialist republic, though it is de facto under an authoritarian regime led by a president who holds executive, legislative, and judicial powers. The government allows extremist ideologies, such as Communism and Nazism, in the creation of political parties. Despite being a socialist republic, Zakinesia has the positions of regent and prime minister. The country is unstable and lacks a constitutional basis.

Zakia Jacob Precioso currently serves as president, with Sebastian Basco as prime minister and Yujin Balboa as regent.

Civil Guards of Zakinesia

Zakia Jacob Precioso organized a small law enforcement force composed of approximately 20 people, modeled after the Civil Guards of Arlandica (CGA). Zakinesia claims to possess three nuclear bombs, but this is a fictional claim made by their leader.

Economy

The majority of businesses in Zakinesia are government-owned, while some are collectively owned. The micronation attempted to create its own currency, the Zakinesian peso, although most people continue to use the Philippine peso. San Sebastian City hosts several retail stores and malls. Robinsons mall Lipa is the most visited mall in Zakinesia while De La Salle Lipa is the most enrolled school. Newport city, Rio Santiago city, Arendelle city and Bandung raya city are also rich cities.
