The Grand Duchy of Nilux, more commonly known as Nilux, is a micronation in Sweden. It was founded on 14 September 2023.
The founders, H.M. Eric I and Villiam drew inspiration from other micronations such as Molossia, Sealand, and Flanderensis. Eric admired Molossia’s city-like nation, Sealand’s bravery, and Flanderensis’ commitment to climate care. Despite these influences, Eric aimed to improve Nilux further. He initiated foreign affairs by contacting other micronations and is currently working on building a garden and a flagpole.
History
The Republic of Nilux was founded on September 14, 2023, by Eric and Villiam. However, Villiam soon deserted Nilux because he wanted an egg to be appointed as prime minister, a proposal the Grand Duke (who was then President) refused. The Grand Duke gave Villiam an ultimatum: either resign from his position as vice president or leave the country. Villiam chose to leave.
Early History
Eric began creating micronations in the summer of 2022 but hesitated to publish them. Eventually, he discussed his ideas with friends, and together they conceived Kiland. However, Eric’s initial attempts did not progress smoothly, leading him to take a year-long pause.
Nilux initially emerged as the Republic of Nilux, established on September 7, 2023. Eric collaborated with the same group of friends who had been involved in Kiland’s creation. Unfortunately, their efforts did not yield the desired results. Power struggles arose among the members, and Eric and William, the most influential figures, concluded that a civil war had broken out. After four days, Nilux came to a halt. Interestingly, this day, September 14, is now celebrated as Nilux’s national day.
On September 28, William deserted Nilux, prompting Eric to consider a change. He engaged in discussions with Prime Minister Asa, focusing on altering the Niluxian flag and status. Asa enthusiastically supported the idea, and on September 30, the Republic of Nilux transformed into the Grand Duchy of Nilux. Since then, it has remained as such.

Military
The Niluxian Armed Forces (Swedish: Niluxianska Försvaret) are the armed forces of the Grand Duchy of Nilux, tasked with the defence of the country as well as with promoting Nilux's wider interests and supporting intermicronational peacekeeping. It consists of two service branches: the Nilux Army and the Niluxian coast guard. Since 2024, all Niluxian military branches are organised within a single unified government agency, the Niluxian Armed Forces Headquarters, which is headed by the Grand Duke, even though the individual services maintain their distinct identities.
Army
The Niluxian Army is the land service branch of the Niluxian Armed Forces. It is one of the two Niluxian military branches. The Army is the oldest branch of the Niluxian military. It has its roots in the Lazuenian Civil War, which happend between the 9th-13th of September 2023 to fight against Lazuenin for independence. After the Lazuenian civil war and the Niluxian independence, it became the official land branch of Nilux.
Coast Guard
The Niluxian Coast Guard (NXCG) serves as the maritime security and law enforcement arm of the nation, safeguarding its territorial waters and ensuring maritime safety. Tasked with patrolling the coastlines, enforcing maritime laws, and responding to emergencies at sea, the NXCG plays a crucial role in protecting Nilux's maritime interests. The coast guard operates with diligence and professionalism. Additionally, the NXCG conducts search and rescue operations, assists vessels in distress, and provides aid during natural disasters or maritime accidents. With a focus on maintaining maritime security and promoting safety at sea, the Niluxian Coast Guard plays an integral role in safeguarding the nation's coastal waters and maritime assets.
