The Governorate of Isovo is a Governorate of the Kingdom of Fontasia. Its capital is the city of Isovo. It is a cultural and innovative capital of the Kingdom of Fontasia. The Governorate's current population is 10.

Isovo is known throughout Fontasia and even intermicronationally for being an absurdly strange place due to most activities taking place at a high school within its borders. However, the rest of the territory is relatively peaceful.

Brief History

Not much is known about Isovo before 2015, however after the Fontasian Revolution of 2015 the region was quickly conquered by the Fontasians. Isovo at this time would be known as Frasia, with the capital being Frasem, where the modern city of Isovo is located. Frasia in Assemblian times was within the Province of Amstria. Layet Peak, a large hill in the western part of the area was a popular sledding area for Fontasians and Assemblians in winter months.

In 2021, there was a skirmish between Assemblian military forces and Isovan gangs and militants, causing a brief conflict in the territory. By 2022, Frasia was commonly referred to as Isovo and the name "Frasem" had pretty much gone obsolete. Scientific labs in Isovo created a lightbulb and further a battery in early 2022. On 13 May 2022, a military expedition occurred around the territory, and afterwards unrest occurred in the city due to free ice cream being sold at a vendor, nearly causing a stampede.

The instances of bizarre events such as the Ice Cream Stampede as well as other odd things discovered at Isovo has lead to the commonly joked upon reputation of the city of Isovo and its respective Governorate.

Government

Until the beginning of localized rule in the Kingdom of Fontasia in late 2022, the Governorate of Isovo, as with all Governorates were directly controlled by the Fontasian Royal Government. In most Praetorial elections, the Governorate has varied in Praetorial election political support, siding with the Populist Party of Fontasia in the Spring 2022 election, and then the Free Fontasia Party in the Fall 2022 election.

As of 2023, there are five municipalities in the Governorate of Isovo.

Geography

The Governorate of Isovo is situated in the central part of Assemblia, bordering the United States to the north, the Buddie Union to the south, the Governorate of Millisia and Governorate of Fontasia to the west, and the Governorate of Centropolis to the east. Isovo is known for its varied geography, ranging from mountainous ridges to flat plains and valleys. The Frasian Valley, a long valley situated between Mount Isovo and Mount Zippid is a major landform, as well as Layet Peak, a notable skiing and sledding spot that also serves as a golf course. The city of Isovo itself is on the eastern slope of Mount Isovo, and the city is built into the slope.

Isovo has the same climate as the rest of the Assemblian governorates.

Culture

Isovan culture is an interesting blend of Fontasian, American and other cultures. The people of Isovo are among the most liberal of all Fontasia, as it is mostly the Fontasian intelligentsia and elite. Isovo's lenience on leftism has lead it to be a strange place in terms of Fontasia, which is majority heavily conservative. This awkwardness culturally is what has lead the Isovo to be ostracized as a foreign place inside Fontasia, with many memes and mockery being made of the Governorate, both Fontasian and intermicronational. Notable things, such as the Isovo Ice Cream Stampede, the Isovo Shoe and the Isovo Rocket Net have became memes in the micronational community.
