The Flag of Stabilitas refers to the current flag of the micronation Stabilitas, which was adopted on September 24, 2020. It is a blue-white-blue horizontal triband with the Black Crown in the center. The Black Crown is, independently, the national symbol of Stabilitas often used on its own.

The current flag is inspired by the flag of Burkland, which is a red-yellow-red horizontal triband with the emblem of Burkland in the center. The blue-white-blue color scheme was chosen in part because blue is a color associated with traditionalism, whereas red represented left-wing politics. It is the successor to the original flag of Stabilitas, adopted on its foundation, which had the Black Crown on a light blue background with a black bar on the right.

A paper Stabilitan flag can be found pinned to the wall in the capital city Flagside. However, the majority of the flag's usage is online. The 24th of September is celebrated as National Flag Day in Stabilitas.

Legal status

The flag was designed by Rachel the Curious. As The Crown is the ultimate source of the Kingdom of Stabilitas's authority, no approval from Parliament was necessary for it to be adopted. Rachel the Curious as an individual and The Crown as an institution have released the flag into the public domain.

History

The first flag of Stabilitas

The first flag was adopted on September 22, 2020, right after Stabilitas was founded. The original flag is a light blue flag that contains the Black Crown in the left-center of the flag and a black bar in the right of the flag. It was never used outside of limited use online. It was replaced with the current flag on September 24, 2020.
