It was adopted on 12 March 2023, after the ratification of the Constitution of Aumarea.
Design and Meaning
The red stripes represent the union and the states. The white stripes represents the federal government. The blue represents national unity and the yellow cross represents the citizens of the nation.
History
The flag was designed and adopted on 12 March 2023. It was designed by President Luke Knight and was inspired by the American flag and the Liberian flag. It was adopted following and in celebration of the adoption of the constitution.
Within Aumarea it's used as a symbol of the nation, liberty and freedom.
Usage
The flag first and foremost serves as the national flag of Aumarea. It is the primary symbol of the nation. The flag is also used as an ensign on all vessels operated by the UF Navy and UF Coast Guard. All military personnel are expected to wear the flag as a patch on some of their uniforms.
The flag is also the focal point of the Aumarean national anthem, The Stripe-Spangled Banner, being referenced as the name of the song and in the final verse of the anthem.
