The First Secretary of State is an office sometimes held by a minister of the crown in the Government of Athor. The office is not always in use, so there have sometimes been extended gaps between successive holders.
Position
Like the Deputy Prime Minister the First Secretary of State has no automatic right to succession to the office of Prime Minister, however does typically act as a close ally and deputy to the PM in the day to day governing of the nation.
The office is sometimes issued to a minister to denote seniority in the cabinet.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the office holder include performing correlation and co-ordination and to chair government committees. They also aid the prime minister in their duties. The office is similar to that of Deputy Prime Minister, with less authority than the DPM.
