The Federation of Uranian States is an LGBT micronation enclaved by the United Kingdom. An LGBT homeland, it is constituted of 4 largely-independent Duchies. It is the legal successor to the Principality of Urania.

Etymology
Uranian is a 19th-century term that referred to a person of a third sex—originally, someone with "a female psyche in a male body" who is sexually attracted to men, and later extended to cover homosexual gender variant females, and a number of other sexual types. The term was first published by activist Karl Heinrich Ulrichs (1825–95) in a series of five booklets (1864–65) collected under the title Forschungen über das Räthsel der mannmännlichen Liebe (Research into the Riddle of Man–Male Love). Ulrichs derived Uranian (Urning in German) from the Greek goddess Aphrodite Urania, who was created out of the god Uranus' testicles. Therefore, it represents the homosexual gender, while Dionian (Dioning), derived from Aphrodite Dionea, represents the heterosexual gender. Ulrichs developed his terminology before the first public use of the term homosexual.

Formation
The Federation was formed on the 7th April 2019, as a result of the Democracy Review, Princess George I of Urania dissolved the Principality of Urania and founded the Federation of Uranian States.
The Uranian Duchies
There are 4 Duchies in Urania. Citizens are assigned residency to the Duchy matching their identity, and each Duchy is headed by a Duke or Duchess.
The Duchy of Sapphos
Sapphos is named after Greek Poet and Lesbian Feminist, Sappho. The Duchy is for Lesbian citizens.

The Duchy of Lokirotha
The Duchy of Lokirotha derives its name from the God, Loki, who in Norse Mythology was frequently engaged in Bisexual affairs. As such, it forms the Duchy for Bisexual Citizens.

The Federal Council
The Federal Council is the supreme body of the Federation, containing a seat for the Duke of Duchess of each Duchy. It inherits the previous powers and responsibilities of the Sovereign of the Principality of Urania, to conduct the international image and affairs of the Federation. It also contains the ability to legislate law and create decrees that affect all of the Duchies. It requires a 75% majority to pass decisions.
The Presidency of the Federal Council, titled the Grand Prince/Princess of the Federation of Uranian States, rotates annually between the Duchies.
