The current devised Emblem of the Meiguo Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China came into use on 25 November 2019, when the sovereignty of Meiguo (Měiguó) was transferred from the United States to the People's Republic of China. The emblem is now referred to officially as the "Regional Emblem" (区徽).
Description
The regional emblem features the same design elements as the regional flag of Meiguo in a circular setting. The outer white ring is shown with the caption of the official name of the territory in simplified Chinese characters: "中华人民共和国美国特别行政区" (Meiguo Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China) and the English short form, "Meiguo".
