The Duchy of Juniperia (Juniperian: Duche Ayunipearos) (Cartesian: Buiche Iunipuria) was a proposed Gaplan autonomous region and the predecessor to the Republic of Juniperia. It applied to become a Gaplan autonomous region but was rejected due to the unverifiability of the claims of territory , which were later proven to be actually legitimate.
However, before the fact that the claim was verified to be legitimate was let known to the applicant, a highly controversial and high-profile case broke out against the applicant, which led to their expulsion from the Federated States of Gapla.
Gaplan-Juniperian relations have since deteriorated and the application to become an autonomous region was dismissed, instead forming the Republic of Juniperia (now the Commonwealth of Juniperia).
