The Grand Finale, also known as Operation Armeveerband Freies Micronations, Operation Blue in Paxaris, the Sunian War of Independence in Sunia, and by multiple other names, is a conflict between the Armeveerband Freies Micronations - also known as the Entente of Sovereign States - and the United Socialist Republics. Beginning on 6 July 2023, the causes of the war are disputed, though it is generally accepted that the war began after the USR attempted to reclaim several states that had declared independence.

During 6 July 2023, multiple Discord servers were raided by Armeveerband Freies Micronations, along with Cristoria proclaiming that the AlmChat website had been temporarily shut down, allegedly after a cyberattack. The day after, little conflict happened other than the production propaganda by both the Nyxiloma Coalition - who had rejoined the war - and Armeveerband Freies Micronations. On 8 July, one of the most eventful days of the conflict, two Sunian discord servers were raided, with a successful counterattack by Armeveerband Freies Micronations; Benjamin Meadows, the leader of Sunia, also claimed that Tizian had ordered a pizza to his house as a scare tactic. On 9 July, the first major MILDEC operation of the conflict ended in a tactical victory of Armeveerband Freies Micronations.

The war officially ended on 10 July 2023, when a vote for independence the United Socialist Republics had created had a result in favor of Sunian independence; the results of the vote were not recognized by the USR. The war made major changes to the political climate of the micronational world, and has also caused the entry of the Nyxiloma Coalition into mainstream micronational politics.

Prelude

Before the war, the United Socialist Republics declared war on multiple micronations that had left the alliance such as Hoku and Gorthia.

Tensions also escalated between Sunia and Ridgeland after multiple homophobic and transphobic tweets were made on the Sunian Twitter account, in which Free Sunia later defended themselves by claiming the tweets were forced by the anti-LGBT leadership of the USR, as well as the supposed “brainwashing” of Sunia.

Conflict

6 July

The conflict began as both Sunia and Ridgeland officially declared war against the United Socialist Republics, with Free Sunia being declared and the President of Ridgeland disrupting communications in cyberattacks against Tizian Aruna, a member of the USR's leadership. Paxaris declared war on the USR at 3:00 PM EST.

Attack on Hoku@Discord

After being supplied with a text copypasta made by Forest C. F., the President of Sunia began spamming main chat of the Socialist Republic of Hoku with the words "THE ENTENTE OF SOVEREIGN STATES IS SUPERIOR [sic]" repeatedly. The attack is considered a Sunian victory, as there has been little to no resistance and the server's main chat became unusable for a period of time.

Attack on Tizian’s Discord account

Beginning at 3:15 PM EDT, Forest C. F. began repeatedly spamming Tizian Aruna’s direct messages with various vulgarities, and the same copypasta created by Forest C. F. for the raid on Hoku's Discord server. The attack is considered to have done no impact, as he was simply ignored by Tizian.

Attack on AlmChat

At 5:14 PM, AlmChat, the main means of communication in the USR, had been declared down by the leader of Cristoria. It is not known if AlmChat was taken offline due to a cyberattack.

Valkrian entry into the war

Valkria officially declared war against the Entente of Sovereign States with a casus belli of territorial expansion. Forest C. F. muted the leader of Valkria in his discord server after the incident. He promptly sued for peace.

Schpecktenian entry into the ESS

At 6:37 PM EST, Schpecktenia officially joined ESS. While not getting involved in the conflict, they provided diplomatic support.

First round of negotiations and Operation KD2

In the late hours of the day, negotiations were opened between Free Sunia and the USR; however, these broke down after attempts to blackmail the Sunian President failed. The failure of these negotiations resulted in the beginning of Operation KD2 (Kill Denied 2), though it was called off after a referendum was agreed upon by both sides.

7 July

Nyxiloma Coalition rejoins

In the later hours of 7 July, the coalition between Valkria and Yevstar officially rejoined the war, claiming intent to protect the continent of Nyxiloma.

Second round of negotiations

On the 7th, a second round of negotiations began between Free Sunia - as well as affiliated groups - and the USR; this resulted in a peace deal between the two nations, which resulted in the re-admission of Free Sunia to the USR.

8 July

Raiding of the Sunian Discord Server

Presumably in the early morning of 8 July, multiple members of the USR raided the Sunian Discord server, claiming they had retaken Sunia, along with banning President Meadows's discord account from the server. They promptly retitled multiple channels, sent multiple slurs in the chat, along with death threats towards members of Armeveerband Freies Micronations.

Counterattack

The counterattack on the Sunian Discord Server was a complete Armeveerband Freies Micronations victory. The server was raided and turned unusable, as multiple people began to raid the server and delete multiple channels.

Pizza delivery

At an unknown time, likely mid-to-late afternoon, the leader of Sunia had ceded the new Discord server to Tizian after he reportedly ordered a pizza to his home address, which he had gained access to. He claims to have been sent over Discord the message "enjoy your italian mozzarella don't fuck the pizza guy [sic]" by Tizian. McKeen posted a reply to the situation on Twitter, simply stating "Fuck around, found out."

Counterattack

Around 7:00 to 7:30 PM EDT, the captured Sunian server had been raided and destroyed. Tizian claimed to be preparing to rebuild the server, beginning with installing new rules and creating new channels. The server was fully rebuilt and recreated post-war.

9 July

Operation Red July

Around 3:00 to 4:00 PM, Forest C. F. began a Military deception and Cyberattack operation in which he pretended to be the leader of a fictional alliance known as the "Army of Free Micronations", a spin on the name of Armeveerband Freies Micronations. He had gained access to the phone number of McKeen, which he said over text messages had been leaked by the nations of Joseph Horvath (or Novaj), Zachary Egret, and Madison Henderson, who he claimed were plotting an uprising against them known as "Operation Red July". At around 4:00 PM, after McKeen had stopped believing in the plan, Forest C. F. gave the order to spam McKeen's phone number. The phone number of most of the attackers were blocked, leaving the aftermath of the attack having little impact. The operation is still considered a victory according to the Armeveerband.

On 10 July, the war was ended after the referendum ended, with a majority of voters voting in favor of Sunian independence. The results of the referendum, however, were disputed by the USR.

At 3:30 PM EDT (4:15 PM PUT), 6 July 2023, Xander Mintz posted a video of them in a Minecraft world walking toward a recreated USR flag. They then proceeded to destroy it and replace it with a recreated Paxaris flag. Then they threw the USR flag off of a ravine. This video, while being spread around the alliance, is yet to be used as actual propaganda.

WHO DO YOU THINK FALLS NEXT?

At 6:52 PM EDT (5:52 RST), 6 July, Forest C.F. posted an image of the combatants list of The Grand Finale's microwiki page, with the Valkria - Yevstar coalition crossed out to indicate them dropping out of the war and added white text on a black background saying "WHO DO YOU THINK FALLS NEXT?” to indicate an eventual victory of the Entente of Sovereign States. The propaganda has went unused and is depreciated after the Nyxiloma Coalition rejoined the conflict.
