The Free and Sovereign Principality of New Nitra was an unrecognized micronation located in West-Central Florida. It was bordered entirely by the United States of America. It had a sea border by the Tampa Bay.
Etymology
The Free and Sovereign Principality of New Nitra inherits its name from the former Principality of Nitra in Slovakia. This is due to the Slovak heritage of the nations first Prince.
History
The notions of this nation began in March of 2023. In this time, a micronation called the Kingdom of the Viking Crusaders began its reign of terror on the micronational community. The Prince of the Free and Sovereign Principality of New Nitra had began this treacherous nation. During a large portion of 2023, it would declare war on many nations, begin many rivalries, and even join the LIN.
During its membership of the LIN, it would stir up conflicts among the members and conduct “operations” of bothering members of higher ranks, including but not limited to Empress Jasmine of Gunaka, and Jay Pab of Pabistan. This period of history caused the KVC to lose almost any and all backing. It is frowned upon by its former dictator, now the Prince of New Nitra.
After the KVC fell from glory, it left the LIN. It kept animosity with former members and would spitefully plan for revenge. This was not a very good idea.
Due to this apparent collapse, all members left, except 5 diplomats and one citizen, all of whom were close friends of the dictator king, that likely stayed out of pity. The king stepped down and handed the throne to the last citizen, known only by his online name, Phone Guy, who did nothing for the nation, due to being extremely busy.
In December of 2023, Phone Guy dissolved the KVC and began a movement to begin a better nation, and had good reason for it. The reputation was horrendous. Phone Guy would later return to inactivity, because being busy. He wouldn’t return until January. He would again be inactive. Eventually he returned in March, and told the old King to take the new project into his own hands, because he was too busy. The King was hasty to do so, forming the Pajija Tamepá Republic, a not too thought out state which he planned to make a constitutional monarchy. Not even a day after making it, he changed his mind and created another nation, and actually thought it through this time. This new state would be the Free and Sovereign Principality of New Nitra.
On 25 March 2024, the nation join the Ojan Crisis on the side of Olov. On the day after, 26 March 2024, they would form an alliance with Terra Dei.
On 1 April 2024, a military group called the “People’s Junta of New Nitra” siezed power and installed a military dictatorship, being in possession of the prince.
On 2 April 2024, the People’s Junta of New Nitra would return power to the prince.
On 4 April 2024, the Prince would change his title from the Prince of New Nitra to the Gwledig of New Nitra.
On 14 April 2024, the Free and Sovereign Principality of New Nitra would cut all support and ties to the Republic of Olov.
On 21 April 2024, the Free and Sovereign Principality of New Nitra would be dissolved.
Government
The Government is a de jure Federal Parliamentary Orthodox Theocratic Principality. It is currently ran solely by the Monarch, due to a lack of members.
Weather and Climate
The weather is relatively warm during winter, and hot during the summer. It is cooler during spring and autumn. Using the Köppen Climate Classification system the Free and Sovereign Principality of New Nitra has a humid subtropical climate, labeled as "Cfa" on climate maps.[1]
Events
The Free and Sovereign Principality of New Nitra officially celebrates New Years Day on 1 January, Epiphany on 7 January, Great Lent, Palm Sunday, Good Friday, Easter and Pascha, and all the other official holidays of the Orthodox Church. April Fools is not recognized officially, but is (probably) celebrated by people.
