The Kingdom of Erdőnia, more commonly refered to as Erdőnia, is a micronation situated in East-Sussex, inside of the United Kingdom. Erdőnia was founded by King Antonius 1st in order to provide an opportunity for other people looking to put their nationalistic ideas and actions into a joint community. The population of Erdőnia live peacefully and freely, and can express their creative ideas within the nation without the shackles of corruption.

Etymology

The "Erdő" in "Erdőnia" means "Forest" in Hungarian. The country's literal name translated is "Land of the Forest". This is due to most of Erdőnian territory being in a woodland.

History

The earliest history of Erdőnia, dates back to around 2021 - 2022, where a group of friends built three main Shelter Areas around the woodland of present day Erdőnia. The group of friends disbanded and the shelter areas were left untouched for around 2 years.

The Kingdom of Erdőnia was founded on 10th March 2024 at 13:00pm by King Antonius 1st. A ceremony was held by the capital, where a flag of Erdőnia was raised, and the national anthem was played. At this point King Antonius 1st appointed Mark Butcher as the first president of Erdőnia, due to no opposition. The three abandoned shelter areas: Új Tér, Kelet Tábor and Délburg were integrated into the Kingdom of Erdőnia.

Politics and government

In the Kingdom of Erdőnia, there are 2 main people that co-lead the nation. These two people are the Monarch (King Antonius 1st), and the President. Whenever a important decision needs to be made (for example: foreign diplomacy), Then both of these people must come to a unanimous agreement for that decision to be put forward and carried out.

Monarch

The Monarch is the figure that created the nation, and who should always be the leader of the nation. The Monarch has more power over everyone else in the country, except for the president. Finally, a Monarch should monitor everything going on behind the scenes inside the country.

President

The President is a figure that is supposed to put foward their plans to make the country even greater, and to improve upon many aspects of the nation. This figure is usually put foward by the Monarch after a population vote. The president usually has as much power as the Monarch, yet they both unanimously have to agree on something for it to be put foward and carried out. A president in the Kingdom of Erdőnia has a term of around 4 months.

Political parties

Political parties form due a plan of action for the nation that wants to be put fowards, therefore a political party group can form with a main leader of it that can then run in a Presidental Election. The Candidate with the most votes from the official citizens of Erdőnia, will be given the task of President from the Monarch. If a Candidate cannot be elected due to votes being equal, then the elections will have to be repeated at a later date.

Military

Erdőnian Military Police

The Military Police of Erdőnia, is a branch of the military that focuses on defending the nation from invasion of hostile forces.

The second job of a Military police, is to deal with internal conflicts like Police from many other macronations would. This may include: resolving unrest and problems, seizing contraband and imprisoning convicts.

Erdőnian Armed Forces

The Armed Forces of Erdőnia, is a branch of the military the specializes in offensive force capabilities. This may include fighting or invading territory due to a conflict, or to provide support for allies.

Erdőnian Diplomatic Bureau

The Erdőnian Diplomatic Bureau is responsible for oversee and represent the Kingdom of Erdőnia in all diplomatic matters including: relationships, treaties, conventions and meetings. It was established on 16th March 2024, under the Order of the Crown to manage intermicronational diplomacy.

So far the main type of use for this Ministery, is to manage recognition between other micronations and the Kingdom of Erdőnia.

The majority of the citizens living in Erdőnia are Hungarians, while the country is located, and primarily is English. As a result, both Hungarian and English are official languages used in the Country.
