The Dominion of the Arqvilliit Archipelago, more commonly known as Arqvilliit or the Arqvilliit Islands, is a micronational colony of Marquette in Canada

Arqvilliit is a decentralised colony of Marquette made up of the Archipelago. Most of the constituent Islands have their own local governance.

Etymology

Arqvilliit means "place where you see bowhead whales" in Inuktitut.

History

Arqvilliit was established during the Fourth Expansion in late 2021. throughout it's history the Arqvilliit Archipelago domain has served as the "model colony" and is frequently used to test new colonial laws and reforms such as the 2022 colonial currency decree which allowed colones to mint their own money with some limitations

Politics and government

The Arqvilliit Archipelago domain is one of the largest colonies of Marquette as such it has great degree of local autonomy of the smaller islands that make up it's claim. with each island having it's own governour and parliament, However they are all subservient to the Governour-General and Domain Level Parliament.

Law and order

The Grand Ducal Arqvilliit Constabulary (GDAC) is a Constabulary made up of local volunteers run by the duchessgrad Constabulary.

Military

The Arqvilliit Archipelago domain mostly relies on local militias called Companies for defense, however the Governour-General and Parliament each retain one regiment of light riflemen for ceremonial guard purposes.

Economy

the Arqvillit paun (from Inuktitut "ᐸᐅᓐ" meaning pound.) is the local currency, pegged to the Marquetten Dukesmark at ℳ1/2/5п=£1, however prior to 2022 the official rate was ᗡM6=£1.
