The Democratic Party of Caïd (Catalan: Partit Demòcrata de Caïd) is a political party created in 2017. The party was created by the most reformist former members of the United People's Syndicate and the Tortimerist Democratic Party in 2017. The movement has been considered the natural successor of the Caidotist movement and his ideology is centrist and republicanist.
History
Initially, the party was founded with the intention of being a permanent platform of the CNC. The SPU and the PTD were integrated into the party, pending the possible integration of the ALC. Finally, the liberals decided not to join the project and continue with the New Center Coalition. Since then, the PDC is one of the two parties that make up the centrist coalition.
