The Democratic Community of Nova Zmeitra , earlier known as Democratic Community of Chiussit is an entity claiming to be a sovereign state, often classified as a micronation by external observers. Nova Zmeitra borders with Italy with which it has three enclaves. It was founded on 15 January 2023 by Esty Carpentieri and Tobey Wyles.
History
Chiussit was formed on 15 January 2023. In its independence day, the constitution entered in force and Esty Carpentieri took office as Provisional Head of State, while Tobey Wyles became Provisional Head of Government. The Provisional State Assembly was formed, which obtained both judiciary and legislative powers. On 16 January 2023, the Provisional State Assembly revoked Thomas Jacobs’ citizenship after the 2023 Roscami coup d’etat and condemned the coup. On 17 January 2023, after a Constitutional Amendment the state was renamed to Nova Zmeitra.
