The DSL Legacy, short for the Drew Star Line Legacy, is a series of micronations and other associated entities that can trace their origins back to the foundation of Drew Star Line in 2005. Nearly all of these entities have been associated with micronationalist Violette Clingersmith, however several spin-offs have been created by former citizens of DSL. Nations of the DSL Legacy have often associated with each other through various alliances and treaties, and a "Legacy Board" consisting of the leaders and founders of each nation has convened twice in the past. It is officially survived by the micronations of San Dover, Dysnomia, and the fictional entity of Sunþrawegaz, the latter formally declaring that it did not qualify to be defined as a micronation in early 2019.
The DSL Legacy can be divided into several groups, but the easiest way is to divide along periods of inactivity. As such there are two major phases: the Starland Phase and the Kermadec Phase, the former being named after the dominate micronation in the DSL Legacy at the time, and the latter being named after a recurring land claim, the Kermadec Islands. These phases are further divided into a main branch led by the successor states of the original DSL, a secondary branch for micronations created congruently with the main branch by former citizens, and a tertiary branch of micronations often associated with the DSL Legacy.
