The County of Northarctica is a territorial claim of the Kingdom of Hrafnarfjall. It is located on an unclaimed area of land on the continent of Antarctica. It was one of two areas of land originally contained within Phoklandian Antarctica. Its smaller counterpart, Arcelia, was claimed by the Grand Navārdian Commonwealth at the dissolution of Phokland.
Intentions
The primary purpose for the acquisition of Northarctica by Phokland was government intent to establish an overseas nature preserve in an attempt to preserve the natural landscape of the continent and in order to allow a preserved stretch of land to be saved for future research to be conducted by individuals both within and without Phokland. This was accomplished through the signing of National Treasure Act 02, the act that claimed the aforementioned land for Phokland and reserved it as a national park thus prohibiting the industrialization of the local land, water and other resources.
