Commemoration Day (colloquially August 22) is an official federal holiday of the Arstotzkan Union. It commemorates the announcement of independence by the incumbent First President, Ethan Brinkman on 22 August 2019. Where Brinkman declared the Arstotzkan Union officially independent from New Zealand, with it becoming one of the first micronations in New Zealand to do so since the Republic of Whangamomona in 1989.

Commemoration Day was given its official name from the first Address of the Union on 22 August 2019. In 2020 the National Assembly made the day an official public holiday with the passing of the Anniversaries and National Holidays Act 2020 on 5 October 2020.
