Banknotes
The current series of banknotes for the Chukou yuan began circulation in 2014. The current set includes banknotes for EC¥1, EC¥5, EC¥10, EC¥20, EC¥50 and EC¥100. Note that the EC¥0.1 and EC¥0.5 banknotes are not commonly used by consumers. This may be due to the tendencies of consumers to simply use multiple EC¥1 or EC¥5 bills to cover the range of the EC¥10, as well as using EC¥50 bills or credit/debit cards instead of the EC¥100 bill. Lack of government promotion may also be a contributing factor to the general lack of usage.
