Censorship in the Arstotzkan Union has existed since the nations founding. One of the only pre-war documents to exist, the Amendment of Law outlines several censor relating themes. In 2022, the Arstotzkan Union has severely limited its censorship with guarantying rights of free speech and freedom in Section 2 of the Constitution of the Arstotzkan Union.

Freedoms

Political

The Arstotzkan Union does not restrict political freedoms and promotes ideological freedom. Even though the nation is a socialist republic it strongly advocates peaceful political discussion. However violent ideologies like Neo-Nazism and Neo-Fascism are banned under Section 2, Article 18 of the Constitution.

Social and Other Freedoms

Freedoms are guaranteed by several articles in the Constitution. The first one being Article 5, Section 2 which states:

- Freedom of Liberty
- Freedom of Happiness
- Freedom of Humanity
- Freedom of Property, as prescribed by law

And Article 6, which is considered the most progressive:

The rights henceforth guaranteed by this constitution and the republic for which protects it and for the people of our republic are:
Freedom of Speech
Freedom of Assembly
Freedom of Religion
Freedom of the Press
Freedom of Expression
Freedom of Privacy
Freedom of Sexual Orientation
Freedom of Sexual / Gender Identity
Freedom of Sexual Expression
Freedom of Same-Sex Activities

These rights must be absolutely protected and no person shall be hindered from any duty in his or her military, government or civil service because of their expression of the aforementioned freedoms.

Section 1: Sexual Activities shall only be allowed through twin party consent
Sub-Section 1: Consent can only be given through the eyes of the law of the Independent Federal Republic of the Arstotzkan Union, between two parties over the age of sixteen years.
Section 2: Transgendered persons shall have the right to the changing of their gender and shall incur no punishment for the application of this right.

Cinema and Video Games

For the most part of the history of the Arstotzkan Union, censorship over video games and content was never an issue until the rise in extremism across the world in 2021. In November 2022 the Arstotzkan Federal Government established the Arstotzkan Federal Content Rating Commission from the Films, Videos and Classifications Act 2022.
