The Battle for New Prussia was a major battle in the Greater Metro East War. The Battle of New Prussia was a ground fight for the mainland of New Prussia, with the Great Taydrostian Empire attacking to conquer New Prussia in the War of the Third Front.
In February 2024, New Prussia was attacked by Taydrostian Nationalist Armed Forces with the intent of causing terror and disorder as the main armies advanced into New Prussia. New Prussian forces were rapidly mobilized to halt the advances, being pushed back until supply lines could supply the Reichsarmee and New Prussian forces could set up a fallback line.
Previously, the war had only majorly been fought in Taydrostian territory, with small scale incursions into New Prussia occurring. The urban combat also being new to the war, having both sides rethink strategies.
On 3 March 2024, New Prussian forces took back all lost lands from the invasion, causing the surrender of the Taydrostian government and emergence of Taydrostian Nationalist militias.
Prelude
Days before the attack, New Prussia had fully occupied the Vaughn region as the Battle of the Vaughn ended with New Prussian victory. This attack has been interpreted by outside observers as an act of "revenge" by Taydrostia for the atrocities committed by New Prussia in the Vaughn. In reality, Taydrostia was aiming towards ending the Greater Metro East War diplomatically. Once the Province of Vaughn was lost, the Taydrostian Armed Forces carried out the invasion of New Prussia that was planned in January 2024.
Timeline
Attack of New Prussia
On 28 February 2024, Taydrostian Civilian Militias (2nd Syktorian Rangers) launched a large scale terror attack against New Prussia, entering New Prussia without supply lines, firing bottle rockets and firecrackers at the homes of known New Prussian officials, and shooting at resistance faced. On 26 February, the Provincist Republic of Schpecktenia announced military support.
Main Battle (28 February - 3/2/24)
Operation Tiger's Claw - (2/29/24)
Mobilized joint operators from the SpecFor "Alpha" Unit and the 501st Panzergrenadier Division launched several hit and run attacks in an organized campaign to liberate the area between the Kingdom of New Bavaria and The Grand Principality of Grunbaum, the operation was a success, fully liberating the area.
Operation Pinecomb - (2/29/24)
The 3rd Mechanized Recce "Kolovrat Battalion" alongside the 28th Artillery Corps attempted a light recon assault to set up a foothold in occupied Grunbaum with artillery support. Facing unexpected heavy resistance and friendly fire incidents, the joint task forces pulled out of the battle zone to reorganize, taking light casualties and failing their main objective.
Operation Honor Guard (3/2/24)
The 1st Infantry Division and the 1st Special Forces Unit launched a large attack in the western and central regions of New Prussia, shocking the unprepared and poorly equipped Taydrostians, causing them to retreat, liberating the western and central areas of New Prussia.
Operation Overthrow (3/3/24)
The 501st Panzergrenadier Division and the 3rd Mechanized Recce "Kolovrat Battalion" launched a mechanized and armored shock attack in the Grand Principality of Grunbaum to repel the final Taydrostian forces in the region. The task force faced severe casualties but inflicted critical and lethal amounts of casualties onto the Taydrostian Nationalist Militia that attempted Guerilla Warfare unsuccessfully. This operation kicked the remaining forces in New Prussia out of the mainland. In the assault, New Prussian forces discovered the militia goes to a local airsoft field to train and use the field as a base of operation.
Aftermath
After the failure of the offensive, and the total destruction of the NITMs Armed Forces in the attack, Michael Scholz and Aydin Fisk surrendered to New Prussia, deciding to leave Micronationalism entirely. This angered the civilian nationalists and Gregory Bard, who decided to keep fighting with the Far-Right white nationalist Taydrostian Militia, which led to an attack on the Taydrostian region of Lesser Alton.
