The Alturisbaum' (lit. "Alturian Boom") is a word used to characterize the mass influx of former Westavian citizens and Alturic peoples into the Kingdom of Laskaridia (then a Principality). The Alturisbaum is a central ideal in Alturianism which propogates ideological and cultural unity amongst Alturians (Westavians). The Alturisbaum was in part due to the fact that Laskaridia was the first "Westavian" state. Despite the traditional viewpoint that Juniperia was the successor to Westavia, this was highly contested by Westavians and was a symbol of "Adlerian aggression." Westavians who migrated to Laskaridia include Joseph Leopold-Almeida, George Celenic, Alexander Drummont and Charles of Donnauberg. This influx exerted a large influence on early Laskaridian affairs causing the Saintathen Accords to be skewed towards Westavian interests. This included the preservation of Donnauberg and Norfolk as Subdivisions of Laskaridia and the restoration of Westavian titles previously banned by Juniperia. Many Alturisbaumians (emigres to Laskaridia) held positions in the Kingdom of Westavia, a Juniperian province. But they were exiled or demoted following the Insurgency in Westavia, this meant they now found a haven to seek their old titles.

The Alturisbaum is not officially credited by any institutions of the Government of Laskaridia but has frequently received coverage from Westavian news outlets. The Alturisbaum has been frequently criticized by Juniperians and Adlerians due to its "nationalistic" tendencies. There does indeed exist revivalist and ultra-royalist components of the movement, but it is mostly Alturianists.

Background

The Alturisbaumians largely consist of former Westavians. During the fall of Westavia[a], the Provisional Government of Westavia fractured severely causing there to be no viable leadership. An alternative movement quickly gained popularity amongst the people and senior nobility which advocated to create a "new Westavia." This movement failed despite having large support, due to inactivity and Micronational burnout. Westavians dispersed throughout the community thereafter. Ruisseau marked the first "wave of hope" for many Westavians, this was even more true during the Ruisseauan Civil War where many Westavians returned to fight to create the Westavian Empire again. After the Battle of Laskaridia, these attempts failed. During the foundation of Juniperia, Lord Jean made an effort to get former Westavians back into Juniperia underneath the provincial estate of Westavia. The crowining of Athena II as Empress of Westavia in 2023 made significant members of the Westavian community protest. This led partially, amongst many other factors to the creation of the An Reilistes[b] by George and Edward Celenic. The two brothers pioneered the shift to a more radical variant of Alturianism characterized by a desire to install a Shahanian as Emperor of Westavia, as opposed to the Athenian monarch who ruled. This led to the Insurgency in Westavia, a cascade of armed conflict in the province that resulted in significant instability. The insurgency failed and, as stated above, many Westavians were persecuted, even those tha thad little role in the insurgency itself. Laskaridia was however made into a protectorate after the conflict. Sean Villevoiche, a Westavian by origin had come up with the idea to create an independent Laskaridia. This was not to claim anyone as Emperor of Westavia, rather than contesting the Athenian claim, he would preserve Westavian history. The Saintathen Accords[c], but Villevoiche was not made prince, rather Edward Celenic. Celenic very shortly abdicated and made Sean the prince. He then made Laskaridia a kingdom on the Edict of the Commonwealth. He reigned as Sean II and V. In the second accords he gained Riveshire, Donnauberg, Castyre, Norfolk and Straithearn.[d] The Fifth Shahanian era commenced and saw the creation and expansion of the Commonwealth and a mass emigration to Laskaridian territories both in person and online.
