The Alliance of North African Micronations (ANAM) is a regional organization established on 4 November 2024. Founded by Mu'tazz, Hicham Soyuz, Mehdi, Ali Al Masry , and C.M.F., it serves as a cultural exchange and development center to increase cooperation between micronations in North Africa.

History

The organization was formed on 4 November 2024 after talks between Mu'tazz and Hicham about establishing a North African micronational-related association, a dream they had both shared for a long time, came to fruit after 3 other North African micronations, Kortland, Qoroccostan, and El Amal, accepted the invitation to found the organization.

Structure

Currently in development, the organization contains a parliament which is the main assembly, where members discuss and vote on motions and where all member delegates can propose to add laws to the law code, a book that will consist of basic laws and rules fitting the needs and wants of the organization, until a further expanding charter is written. There is no rule on the length or the frequency of the parliamentary sessions the organization plans, however, the organization as of date experiences daily motions and proposals.

Executive

The Executive is led by the chair and the vice-chair, and includes also the Secretariat of Culture and several administrators. There is currently plans to introduce several more secretariats, as well as more media and documentation roles, and if implemented, will see the doubling of the size of the executive. The elections of both the chair and vice-chair have been planned and are expected to be implemented before 2025. Mu'tazz has already announced he will be running for Chair, although he hasn't mentioned who will his running-mate be.

Secretariat of Culture

The Secretariat of Culture primarily organizes the bi-annual ''North African Appreciation Event'', a week-long event where members get to exchange the culture, politics, economy, and arts of their nation and members compare all of their unique differences and similarities and share their thoughts on North African identity.

Membership

Membership is open to all micronations based in North Africa, or micronations based elsewhere whose majority of citizens are of North African descent. However, membership is explicitly forbidden for micronations that are culturally not North-African but do claim land in North Africa, such as most micronations that claim land Bir Tawil or in Cueta and Melilla. Micronations located in the Western Sahara and RSF controlled areas in Sudan are still in a legally gray zone, however it is expected that statements regarding these issues will be answered soon enough. Observership currently remains open to all micronations.
