The Tanaauan Army is the principle land warfare force of the Kingdom of Tanaau. It is a branch of the Armed Forces of Tanaau, alongside the Royal Tanaauan Air Force and Royal Tanaauan Navy.
The army traces its roots to 17 November 2023, and its members swear allegiance to the monarch as the commander-in-chief. The army is administered by the Ministry of Defence, and lead by the Chief of the General Staff.
History
The Tanaauan Army was established on 17 November 2023 on the orders of King Colin I. Its foundation was intended to provide a professional, full time, standing army for Tanaau.
Structure
The command structure of the Tanaauan Army is hierarchical, with overall command of the army being the responsibility of the Chief of the General Staff (CGS) - who is immediately subordinate to the Chief of the Defence Staff. The CGS is supported by a deputy chief.
Army headquarters is further broken down into two subordinate commands, the Field Army and Home Command, both commanded by a lieutenant general.
Field Army
The Field Army is responsible for generating capable and combat-ready forces for current operations.
It is led by the Commander Field Army.
Home Command
The Home Command is the Tanaauan Army's supporting command. Its primary focus is recruitment and training, and aids the Field Army. It helps develop Tanaauan resilience.
It is led by the Commander Home Command.

Recruitment
The Tanaauan Army recruits from within the Kingdom of Tanaau but accepts applications from all Tanaauan citizens. The Tanaauan Army is an equal opportunities employer.
The minimum enlistment age in the army is 16, and the minimum commissioning age is 18. Applicants must meet a series of requirements including a fitness test, health requirements and regarding any tattoos or piercings.
The initial length of service of each member is determined by their contract when they join up.
Oath of Allegiance
All soldiers and officers must take an oath of allegiance upon joining the army, during a process known as attestation. Those who wish to swear by God use the following words:
"I, [soldier's or officer's name], swear by Almighty God that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to His Majesty King Colin I, his heirs and successors and that I will as in duty bound honestly and faithfully defend His Majesty, his heirs and successors in person, crown and dignity against all enemies and will observe and obey all orders of His Majesty, his heirs, and successors and of the generals and officers set over me."

Sometimes Private soldiers can be called trooper, gunner, guardsman, kingsman, sapper, signaller, fusilier and rifleman as opposed to private dependant on the regiment they belong to. However, this does not affect their pay or career progression.
