The Ministry for State Security (Esperanto: Ministerio por Ŝtata Sekureco), commonly known as the Statseku, is the state security agency and secret police of the Democratic Republic of Marbordo.
The Statseku reports directly to the Minister for State Security. Since its inception, its headquarters has been located in the Marbordan capital of Goodwin.
Etymology
Statseku is a portmanteau of the Esperanto words for state security - ŝtata sekureco.
Creation
The Statseku was created in 2024, shortly after the establishment of Marbordo itself. Its initial mandate was to maintain the authority of the state and the position of the ruling party, the Workers' Party of Marbordo. It has quickly grown into one of the largest organizations in the country, with its duties becoming more widely diversified.
Duties
The agency is organized as a military service with both enlisted and civilian employees. Its main duties are managing internal security within Marbordo, while also carrying out foreign intelligence and counterintelligence across the wider micronational community. Many of its activities are classified and its total number of employees and informants remains unknown.
