The Senate is the upper house of the Majilis, the legislature of Konraq., It has 8 seats which are filled through elections using a non partisan proportional representation. The constitutional functions of the Senate are enumerated in the Instrument of Government , and its internal workings are specified in greater detail in the Senate Act

Functions

The Senate is where discussion of proposed legislationand review of the actions of the Kan takes place. Both the monarch and the Senate itself have the right to propose legislation; the Senate discusses it and, if adopted by a majority,it become a law

The Senate is also responsible for the first round of selection for judges to the Supreme Court of Konraq. It submits a list of three names for every vacant position to the Government. Furthermore, it elects the Konraqi Ombudsman and their subsidiaries.
