The Secretary of State for Home Affairs, commonly known as the Home Secretary, is a senior Minister of the Crown in the Government of Bastara. The incumbent is an important member of the Cabinet of Bastara.
The position is equivalent to Minister of the Interior in other nations.

Responsibilities
The remit of the Home Secretary includes:
- Matters of National Security
- Matters of Policing and Law Enforcement
- Issues Concerning Immigration
- Oversight of Government Intelligence Organisations
The Home Secretary also works with the Secretary of State for Justice on matters of policing and justice.
History
The office was established on 9 June 2023 and is one of the early Bastaran government offices. It has played an important role in governing Bastara since its foundation.
Appointment
The home secretary is nominated by the prime minister. Then it is at the discression of the monarch to appoint the officeholder. Like other secretaries of state, the home secretary serves at the monarch's pleasure.
