The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, sometimes referred to as the Foreign Secretary, is a secretary of state in the Government of Tanaau. The office is one of the most senior in government, and is responsible for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As one of the most senior ministers, the foreign secretary attends the cabinet.

History
The office of foreign secretary was established on 17 November 2023, with the foundation of the other senior Tanaauan government ministerial posts.
Appointment
Like other ministers of the crown, the foreign secretary is appointed by the monarch and serves at the monarch's pleasure. As a cabinet minister, they are appointed usually on the nomination of the prime minister. Usually, former ambassadors and consuls are favoured for appointment to the position.
