Sanctimonia, officially The Kingdom of Sanctimonia is a micronation with land in Scotland and America. The country is traditionalist with a hint of a medieval aesthetic, however it respects the rights of all its citizens and supports the advancement of the modern world. It is composed of an online and physical government, with land claims in Scotland, America and elsewhere. It seeks to one day become a sovereign microstate with plentiful amounts of land. It was founded on 1 July 2020. The date is significant as it also is the Axis of the Year. 6 months before it is January 1st, and 6 months after it is January 1st.
History
The founder always wondered why he was not born royal. Videos such as these and revelations about his relations to the House of Bonaparte planted the seeds in his head of becoming royal. The name "Sanctimonia" formed from the word "sanctimonious", which was a humorous reference to how the founder viewed his creation as the land of "self-righteousness". The Constitution of Sanctimonia was founded that day. Sanctimonia's YouTube channel was founded on the 7th of January, 2021. Trying to find a new way to promote growth the founder along with some other early Sanctimonians created their fist Discord Server in February of 2021.
Throughout 2021 Sanctimonia had frequent feuds with many enemies. Such as Glamrockia, the Saintus, and the Namazik Empire. In mid 2021, together with Zukostan Sanctimonia declared war on the Glamrockian dictatorship for invading Pigiztan, and with the help of the Southnor military Glamrockia was destroyed and Pigiztan was liberated. After the liberation of Pigiztan, Sanctimonia was soon in conflict with the Saintu, since they invaded the Republic of Bushistan.
In June, 2021 the Murphyite Coalition took control of the government and forced the King to be the bachelor in "The Bachelor" in order to regain complete control of the throne.
In Summer 2021, Sanctimonia started an initiative to stop the Fozroans from raiding other discord servers. Saintania "The City of Gold and Home of Saints" was made the official capital of the kingdom on 24 April 2021.
The nation has faced disputes with the now non-existent Namazik Empire over respecting its sovereignty. For a long time this micronational community remained isolationist to resist foreign occupation/dominance. However, the strange actions which have occurred in the micronational community coupled with the rise of a few new micronational communities such as the Empire of Stomaria and the Empire of Aeternia have forced Sanctimonia to put its hand in things.
Currently, the Kingdom of Sanctimonia is very active in micronational affairs. With a strong belief in its mission, and some extra help from outside of the micronational community, Sanctimonia is shaping up to be a model micronation, and will soon come to influence the world in a myriad of ways.
Government and Politics
The Kingdom of Sanctimonia is an absolute monarchy with a unique system of governance that blends elements of traditional monarchical rule with the spiritual principles of Unitas Divina, the guiding philosophical belief system of the nation.
The Monarchy
The Head of State is the Monarch, who serves as the supreme authority and the embodiment of the nation's unity, sacred traditions, and sovereignty. The current Monarch is His Majesty, Victor of the House of Bergman-Bonapartus, who is seen as the Heir to the Napoleonic legacy and the guardian of the spiritual well-being of the nation.
The Monarch holds extensive powers, including the ability to appoint and dismiss government officials, create laws, regulate commerce, raise and decrease taxes (in consultation with the Concilium Regium), and serves as the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Military. The Monarch is responsible for establishing and protecting the sacred temples of Sanctimonia, as well as maintaining the toleration between various cultures and religions within the Realm.
Succession to the throne follows the principle of absolute primogeniture, meaning that the eldest child of the Monarch, regardless of gender, inherits the throne. Female heirs and their children retain the Bergman-Bonapartus surname, ensuring the continuity of the royal lineage and identity.
The Concilium Regium
The Concilium Regium is known as the Royal Council in English. It is composed of trusted advisors appointed by the Monarch. The Concilium Regium provides guidance and counsel to the Monarch on matters of governance, diplomacy, and spirituality. While the Monarch holds absolute authority, they are expected to give due consideration to the advice and recommendations of the Concilium Regium.
The Grand Vizier
The Grand Vizier, appointed by the Monarch, serves as the Head of Government and is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the nation, under the guidance and authority of the Monarch.
The Council of Sages
The Council of Sages is an independent body of enlightened individuals who have attained a high degree of spiritual understanding and wisdom. The Council serves as a source of guidance and inspiration for the nation, but does not hold direct political power. The Sages are responsible for maintaining the sacred temples and sharing their insights with the people to aid in their spiritual evolution.
Judiciary
The judicial power in Sanctimonia is vested in a system of courts, headed by the Supreme Court of Sanctimonia. Judges are appointed by the Monarch, in consultation with the Concilium Regium, and are expected to uphold the Constitution and the laws of Sanctimonia in accordance with the wisdom of the Law of One and the Ancient Teachings.
Citizenry
Citizens of Sanctimonia have the right to petition the government for guidance, support, and redress of grievances, and the government is obligated to be responsive to the needs and aspirations of the people, always acting in the highest interest of the nation and its spiritual evolution.
One can take the Citizenship Application to become an official citizen of the community.
