Koshland (Koshi: lptimböå) officially the Republic of Koshland, is a self-proclaimed sovereign micronation located in the eastern United States. Koshland claims sovereignty over 423.23 m2 of land. Koshland was founded as a fictional nation in 2023 and eventually was founded as a micronation. Despite Koshland considering itself to be a sovereign state, it is not formally recognized by the government of any internationally recognized sovereign state.
History
The Republic of Koshland was founded in 2023, originally as a fictional nation. It was founded by the name of Soganland. Koshland would be founded as a real micronation in January 2024 after the founder took an interest in the concept of micronations. The founder, known by his YouTube username TCVM2013, would develop a flag, coat of arms, and a language for Koshland, and develop a website. Koshland has gone to many flag iterations but almost all of them would use the national colors of blue, orange, and white. Koshland was most notably a self proclaimed empire for a part of 2024. However Koshland would return to a Republic in August 2024.

The politics and government of Koshland take the framework of a republic. Koshland is led by a president with a parliament responsible for proposing and passing laws.
President
The president of Koshland is the head of state and government for Koshland. They are responsible for day-to-day governce and oversees government functions. The president is the highest office and makes executive decisions inside the country. The incumbent president has been serving the role since the nation became a republic.
Parliament
The Parliament of Koshland is the nation’s legislative body. The parliament proposes and passes laws, and overall ways to improve the nation as they see fit.
Law and Order
Members of the judicial branch of Koshland are responsible for upholding the laws of Koshland. The Koshland Services of Protection, or KSOP for short, is the law enforcement agency for Koshland. The KSOP is tasked with investigating reports of crimes. The government of Koshland maintains a list of banned media, objects, and practices on the “Koshland's Banned!” website.

Media in Koshland mainly comes from the neighboring United States, however some media is also produced in Koshland. Koshland news, also known as KTV, is produced by the Koshi government and broadcasted on their youtube channel.
Another form of state media in Koshland is KoshRadio. KoshRadio serves as a radio portal for Koshland citizens and foreigners. Channels include fox news radio, 95.5 the fish, 96.5 Kiss FM, and Black Information Network.
