The Republic of Kerbait, sometimes referred to as Kerbait, is a self declared sovereign state, commonly known as a Micronation to external observers.
The nation was established as a unitary state but was federalised shortly after. The nation is under a semi-presidential system with a Prime Minister as head of government and a president as head of state.
History
The republic of Kebrait was established on 15 October 2022 by Colin Knight - the first national president. Initially it was established as a unitary state but was federalised.
Government and Politics
Kebrait is a de jure federal semi-presidential republic with provisions for a congress. However the nation is a de facto unitary one party state under a dictatorshop while the nation is developing and until the President Colin feels that more democratic processes can be introduced to the nation.
Congress
The congress of the republic is the primary legislature of the nation. It is bicameral, being made up of a senate and national assembly. The national assembly consists of elected politicians, and the senate is made up of state representatives.
The national assembly predominantly operates as the legislative body of the congress, with the senate being used more for checks and balances as well as to provide some aid to the presidency.
Council of State
The council of state is the advisory body to the president. It is chaired by the president and staffed by the vice president, prime minister and other appointed members. It advises the president on the exercising of a range of their powers and can sometimes act as a rubber stamp for some of the president's decisions.
Presidency
The president serves as head of state and plays a significant political role in the nation. The president appoints the vice president, prime minister and other cabinet ministers. As well as this the president can propose and assent legislation as well as veto congressional bills without override.
The president can also nominate supreme court judges for senatorial approval in the event of a vacancy. The chief justice is also appointed by the president.

Sport culture is fairly casual in the republic and no competitive tournaments typically occur. Karate serves as the national sport and is popular within the nation.
National Symbols
The primary national symbol is the national flag. It consists of three stripes with a trident in the middle. The red stripe represents the people, the yellow representing the states and the green representing the central government.
