Boronia (Catalan: Boronia, [bu.ruˈni.ə]), officially the Republic of Boronia (Catalan: República de Boronia, [rəˈpu.bli.kə də bu.ruˈni.ə]), is a Spanish micronation located in the provinces of Barcelona, and Girona, in Catalonia.
History
Pre-independence
The establishment of Boronia was the result of a simple idea: its founder wanted to live in his own, independent nation. After reviewing a few names for the micronation, such as "Torolnia" and "Borolnia", the final choice was "Boronia".
Independence (28 October 2022)
On 28 October 2022 at 11:30 p.m. (local time), Arternia I declared the foundation and independence of the "Republic of Boronia" in a Microsoft Word document.
"From 11:30 p.m., the Republic of Boronia will cease to be part of the Kingdom of Spain and become an independent country.
So Arternia I proclaims himself president of the Republic of Boronia from time of the birth of the republic.
Until further notice the new republic will be democratic, and will have a territory of approximately 0.2 square km.
This new country will have a population of 4 at the moment. So a new great era begins of hope for the new country.

First days (28 October–26 December 2022)
The early days of the republic were peaceful, as the micronation did not join any wars. On 5 December 2022, the chihuahua dog of the micronation died at 16 years old. He was buried in the Special Region of the Tree of Heroes. This caused the Republic of Boronia to declare a few days of mourning for the entire population as it affected the entire population.
Siege of Cal/Can Erra
Meanwhile, President Arternia I had to deal with an internal conflict that turned into a violent siege of the micronation's capital city. The masses were getting angrier because the government had neither announced any plans for elections, nor published the micronation's constitution. They tried to overthrow the government via a coup d'état, which eventually formed into a rebellion. Christmas Day was the calm before the storm, as both sides were respecting the holiday. This peaceful day was sadly the last.
The Great Rebellion (26 December 2022–1 January 2023)
The people of Boronia got fed up with the government's lack of response and thus, on 26 December 2022, the Great Rebellion began. During the Great Rebellion, the rebel organization controlled different territories of the capital city, including the Hall of the Republic. Each rebel attack was usually launched each evening, between 18:00 and 21:00. The clashes lasted until 1 a.m. on New Year's Day, when permanent ceasefire was declared, after the republican forces had declared victory.
Aftermath
It was revealed that some people who were affected by the chihuahua's loss had come up with a plan to take over control of the micronation. The masterminds behind this rebellion were judged in court and punished.
Boronia 1st and 2nd Elections and Expansion (1 January 2023–12 April 2023)
After the banishment of the rebel leaders, the first elections in Boronia were held on 15 January 2023. The victorious party that emerged was the center-right Democratic Party, which is lead by none other than Arternia I. This is the only representative in the Congress of Boronia, with 2 deputies.
On 14 January 2023, two days after the elections, a historic milestone was reached, as the Constitution of Boronia was finally released to the public. Among other things, the constitution defines the micronation's laws, the official languages, as well as the layout of the capital territory. On 15 January 2023, the Treaty of Boronia was signed, effectively disarming the Boronian rebels and disestablishing their organization. On the same day as the Treaty of Boronia was signed, the animals of the micronation were affected by fleas. This plague reached its peak on 1 February 2023.
On 21 January 2023, an unsuccessful attempt to overthrow the government was made. The government was able to intercept the people in charge and save the republic.
Since 26 January 2023, Boronia has been expanding to neighboring areas, namely a few territories located in the Province of Girona. Apart from that, Boronia has officially commenced its diplomatic affairs, by recognizing a few micronations and negotiating treaties with them.
On February 12, Boronia's second ever election was held and the government's term of office was changed from 1 month to 4 months. The elections were won by the Center-Right Democratic party and Arternia I won the elections again with 2 deputies.
On February 21, 2023, a motion of censure is made to President Arternia I who stood in favor of Nikus I, the motion of censure was negative with two votes against the motion and one vote in favor, and Arternia I won. There was also a small rebellion against the president and also Nikus I became the president of the ERP.
On March 1, the alert was activated in Boronia as there was an incident with an unknown person who seemed to have come from the wrong house. On March 3, the territory of the Vista Alegre region was expanded.
Federation and Commonwealth (12 April 2023–24 May 2023)
On April 12, 2023, Boronia created the 6 Nations Federation with Denskland and Cilsur. On May 13, the Navy region was created and Estrac Island joined Boronia. The federation lasted until May 18, 2023, due to a collapse and internal problems. Then on May 20, a Commonwealth was created that only lasted until May 24 due to internal issues.
The Era of the Peace (24 May 2023–28 November 2023)
On June 13, 2023, the 3rd Boronia elections in history were held where Arternia I was the only candidate and therefore, his political party had an absolute majority with 4 deputies. President Artenia I declared that it would be the best government in the history of Boronia because of the new projects planned. On June 17, the Boronia Gymnasium was created and the Boronia Swimming Pool was approved, which was inaugurated on June 22.
Present (18 November 2023-act.)
After a quiet legislature of 5 months (1 month added after an approval of the Boronia government), on November 18, 2023, Boronia entered a new election. The ballot system was used in these elections and these elections were historic due to the entry of the Socialist Party of Boronia, with a result of 2 votes and 2 deputies, the same as the Democratic Party. A case of corruption occurred during the event, as the candidate of the "GRIBS" party tried to illegally steal the ballot box to change the result, and this caused the only vote that was counted by that party, be outlawed with the approval of the Boronia government. So, the Democratic Party and the Socialist Party made the great "Pact for Boronia", a pact with new laws made by the Socialist Party that made President Arternia I rule for 4 more months.

There are currently 7 inhabitants registered in the Republic of Boronia. 4 inhabitants live within the territory of the micronation while 3 inhabitants live outside the territory of Boronia but are also registered as inhabitants. Within the territory of Boronia, 3 inhabitants live in the capital Can/Cal Erra including the president Arternia I.

Climate
In the Köppen climate classification, Boronia has a humid subtropical climate (Cfa), with cool winters and hot summers. In winter, temperatures are usually between −3 °C and 14 °C, but they can drop to below −2 °C. The lowest recorded temperature in Boronia was −8 °C in the morning of 23 January 2023. In summer, maximum temperatures can reach 30 °C. Although rainfall is evenly spread throughout the year, it is more common in spring (April–May) and autumn (September–November). The driest month is July. Thunderstorms are very common, particularly in the summer. Fog is quite common in Boronia.

Boronia's economy is mostly produced by the Industrial Region, where half of the micronation's inhabitants work.
