Øchrya, officially the Republic of Øchrya, is a micronation located in the South Pacific Ocean on the islands of South Georgia. According to the Øchryan Constitution, it is a democratic republic, with Vilhelm Anderson as the Prime Minister and Röger Koch as the head of Parliament.
History
On the 17th of July, 2022, Vilhelm Anderson and Röger Koch founded the Republic of Øchrya when they were bored that day. Coincidentally, Röger also founded the micronation of New South Wyoming the same day.
Demographics
Ancestry
Most of Øchrya's citizens have cited ancestry from Scandinavia, the British Isles, or other areas in Western Europe.
Language
The official languages of Øchrya are English and Norwegian Bokmal, per Article 3 of the Øchryan Constitution. A survey found that English was by far the most common spoken language was English.
Politics and Government
Øchrya is a republic, as per Article 1 of the Constitution. As of July 17, 2022, the FrOng Party has the majority of seats in Parliament, although the Prime Minister is from the Moai Party.
Constitution
Article 1 - Øchrya is officially a democratic republic.
Article 2 - Every Øchryan shall have the right to live in peace, and shall not be discrimated against for who he is.
Article 3 - The official languages of Øchrya are English and Norwegian Bokmal, although others may be spoken freely.
Article 4 - El Pratt and Reese Mason may never hold Øchryan citizenship.
Article 5 - Øchrya shall be divided into provinces separating the mainland and other islands.
Article 6 - Øchrya shall have 6 official holidays, those being New Year's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Founding Day, Halloween, and Christmas.
Article 7 - Øchrya shall have a military, but they will remain pacifist except in the face of invasion.
Provinces
Øchrya is divided into 2 separate provinces, those being South Georgia, governed by Kris O'Neil, and the Øchryan Outer Islands, governed by Harrison Maarten.
Culture
Ochryan culture is heavily based on American culture, but with a much greater focus on technology and video games. Øchrya has a Group DM on Discord with all its citizens in it.
Military
The Øchryan Defense Force (ODF) has been set up to protect the country and organize the military. According to Article 7 of the Constitution, Øchrya's military shall remain neutral except in the face of an invasion.
