The Public Force of the Kingdom of Laskaridia (Westavian: Legionissimus Populæ Laskaridias) is the land force of the Laskaridian Armed Forces, its primary role is protecting the territory of Laskaridia. It was established by a Princely Edict on September 25th 2023. Its main branches are the Royal Grenadiers and the Royal Regiment of Rifles. There is currently no conscription laws in place.
Symbol
The main symbol of the Public Force is a golden wreath with the crown of Lakaridia and a baton crossed with a sword imposed on it. Each regiment and company has their own emblem. Each emblem is representative of the regiment's values and ideals, as well as their commitment to the crown.
History
The Public Force has its roots in the original Imperial Laskaridian Regiment of Westavia, which was commanded by the Emperor of Westavia. The regiment faced multiple expeditions including the Ruisseauan Civil War, in which it was split amongst the revivalist regiments (loyal to the Neo Westavians) and those loyal to John Alexander, Prince of Ruisseau. The Public Force in its current form, was founded automatically upon the creation of the independent Laskaridian state.
Structure and ranks
The Public Force is commanded titularly, and professionally by the King of Laskaridia, who acts as the Commander-in-Chief of the force. His deputy is the Chief of Ground Staff, who acts when the Prince can not. Both these titles are required by profession to give orders and command the nation's army during the event of a war.
