Shadowfoxia is a Province outside of Edwardsville, Illinois and is the oldest adminstrative division of the Imperial Federation of Schpecktenia. It is home to the nation's first national body of water, Lake Specht. Shadowfoxia was founded with the Monarchy of Schpecktenia on 4 October 2023.
Etymology
Shadowfoxia's name comes from the nearby street Shadowfax Lane, which was misread as Shadowfox.
History
The history of Shadowfoxia starts with Schpecktenia's creation. Shadowfoxia had the same borders at this time as today. It was envisioned that the "white house" would be in Shadowfoxia, but this idea was scrapped when the Dark Times began. When Schpecktenia came back as the Second Republic of Schpecktenia, Shadowfoxia grew to be the name of the capital province of Schpecktenia. It contained most of Madison county and its surroundings, but shrank to be Edwardsville when the Third Imperial Schpecktenian Republic became the new form of government. It would stay this way until it became a state in the Imperial Federation of Schpecktenia.
During the Greater Metro East War, the Empire of Taydrostia claimed land entirely inside of Shadowfoxia. Taydrostian and Schpecktenian forces would fight over these claims during the Battle of Shadowfoxia, which wouldn't end until New Prussian forces would take out the remaining Taydrostian army on 6 November 2023.

Geography
Shadowfoxia is mainly farmland and gardens, but also has a sizeable forest area. Shadowfoxia holds Lake Specht, which is a common fishing location for Schpecktenians and Americans alike and is very important as it contributes towards tourism.

Forests and Wildlife
Common trees are the birch trees, sugar maples.
The forests include a large number of mammals, primarily deer, squirrel, coyotes, rabbits, and many species of birds. The forests are also home to many avian species like [w:hawks|hawks]].
