I and has the approximate protected land is of 167 400 000 square meters. Siriu has three regions and the capital city is Teghis. The population of Siriu is mostly composed of romanians but people from around the world are invited to become Siriu's citizens and help with the enviromental cause not only in Siriu but all over the world. The official currency of the country is the RON.

On the micronational stage, Siriu has diplomatic relations with multiple countries and is continously looking to improve their diplomacy.

History

Siriu Dam and Lake

Prehistory

The mountains in the north-west of nowadays Buzau (The Siriu Massive) were first populated probably around the Upper Paleolithic Period, when the ancenstors of the luanians are thought to have first settled the region, since there was found a cave, arranged by the paleolithic luanians so it can be suitable for living. The same cave has drawings and inscriptions dating from the Bronze Age, way later in time. From the same age, there is also a settlement and a necropolis from the "Monteoru" Culture. The forming luanians got influenced by the Daco-Gets, eventually basically becoming a Dacian tribe. The luanians are also called siriuans, it depends on the context.

Medieval Ages

The luanians/siriuans, after the forming of the Romanians(~900 A.D.), became subordinated to the Romanian people, but still identified themselves better with their "tribe".

There are multiple remains of settlements and religious structures carved into stone from the Medieval Period.

Modern Ages

Eventually, the siriuans came down from the mountains and settled in little villages in the valleys and near the River Buzau, getting a lot more romanian influence over time and loosing the sense of luanian/siriuan tribe that they had in them. In time the authorities of the Romanian states brought these villages to the standards of the time, schools were built, town halls etc.

With the founding of the modern Romanian state, the siriuans lost their unique identity, now only identifying with the romanian side and people left for the big cities.

As the construction of the Siriu Dam finished (1972-1994), the accumulation lake of Siriu formed.

Founding

In the Autumn of 2021, A. I who already knew about the zone and surroundings of the Siriu Lake, being very interested in it's nature and it's rich history, having had a past micronation based around the region, became very disgusted and alarmed by the way the Romanian Government was treating the beautiful mountains, waters and hills of the Siriu Lands. Deforestation (most times illegal) and Pollution destroyed the natural enviroment that the siriuans have lived in for such a long time, while the government was not doing anything to stop it. The Dam was also in quite a bad shape, a risk of it breaking and Siriu flooding existed (the Dam is now stable). Some of the ancient and medieval remains were even vandalized by careless tourists.

For these reasons, on the 19th of September 2021, the Siriuan Principality declared independence. A micronation founded with the purpose of protecting the holy and ancient Siriu lands.

Basic institutions, the Coat of Arms, the Flag and more were created, a Constitution was signed and some Princely Decrees were put into effect, before entering a period of inactivity that lasted from around the winter of 2021 to the 6th of October 2022.

Current status

The Siriu Principality is currently focusing on developing their young country, and recovering from the recent inactivity period.

On the 22nd of February 2023, The micronation went through a privacy policy, censoring all names that might appear anywhere on the internet, so that the memory of the micronation remains, but the names of the citizens remain hidden.
