The Principality of Seems was a US based micronation, founded on 17 March 2019. The goal of this micronation was to spread awareness of conspiracy theories and the truth behind them. The nation also functions as a regular sovereign state, with crops, water, parks, currency, etc. The name stems from the saying by Phaedrus, “Things are not always what they seem.”

Etymology

The name comes from the quote from Phaedrus, "Things are not always what they seem; the first appearance deceives many; the intelligence of a few perceives what has been carefully hidden." Since the nation is founded upon conspiracies, this quote was chosen to become part of the name (Seems), and the motto.
