Pride of Nations (formerly known as Discord Nations for it's first three seasons) was an Elarian-created RTS online service or game hosted by Charles I. The service began on November 10, 2020. It's usage of the discord client can make the claim of calling it a game debatable, however players are allowed to make their own country, claim territories and wage war on others. They can also set up national organizations with verification from game moderators. This is a successor game to Discordian Nations RTS, a previous game Charles had made before learning about micronationalism.
On 14 September 2021, a new service was announced, as Pride of Nations as a seasonal service was discontinued after the fifth. It was revealed to be Pride of Nations X internally, however externally known as Pride of Nations Online and was released on 16 September 2021.
Gameplay
It is mainly text based, with the mechanics changing somewhat every season. In the first season, you choose a territory and then you earn gold every 60 seconds based on how many territories you hold. In Season One, you could choose to invade every country and the players would spam a ticket channel. Whoever had the most emojis by 10 seconds would be the winner. In Season Two, however, you got a new mechanic, strength, automatically dividing your gold by 3. For example, if a player has 3 territories and has spent about an hour playing, they may have 180 gold, or 60 strength. You can wage war on other nations and whoever has the most strength wins, so they conquer the other nations land. To get into the game after all territories have been called, it's considered wise to either wait for that round to end (by someone taking over the world or the round just ending by time) or you can set up a new nation by form of rebellion or revolution. Starting in Season Four, There are eras in the game. They help determine who may be fit to enter battle or worth conquering at that moment, rather than strength.
The fifth season's mechanics replaced gold and strength with power in a less complicated and contrived system. In one event, a player was given 10 extra power because their previous claim was accidentally not yet added in the map.
