The President (French: Président du Québec), is the head of government of Québec and serves to the people.

The President presides the Government Council.

Powers of the Minister of State

According to the Constitution, the President represents the people and exercises the government, with the help of the Government Council on her authority.

The President presides, with a deciding vote, the Government Council.

The position is mutually exclusive with that of member of the Crown Council. There are no provisions in the Constitution that the functions of President are incompatible with other functions in Québec.
