His Excellency Sir Patrick Johnson is a politician in the State of Hamsterland and former Chief of the Government. He headed the Libertarian Party through the 2018, 2019 and 2020 elections. He was initially a popular politican bringing his party to victory during the 2018 and 2019 elections. However after his controversial handling of Chief Hamster Luddes death in November 2019 his popularity started to decline and after the 2020 elections it was clear a coalition government had to be established. He then resigned as leader of the Libertarian Party
Micronational career
Patrick Johnson started of his micronational career in 2018 when he signed up as the leader of the Libertarian Party before the election. During the election his party won 12 seats in the Chamber and he was on the 30th of March appointed as Chief of the Government by Ludde. His government focused on individual freedom and keeping the tax rates low. They also wanted to abolish the Senate to use the money which it cost to mantain it for other things, like education. His government would shortly after their appointment oppose Ludde after several incidents were he attacked the Defender and members of Congress. The government was able to temporarly transfer his powers to the Secretary of Foreign Affairs while Ludde was sent back to the petshop he came from to get taught some basic manners. Once he returned his powers were returned to him from the government. Patrick would during the 2019 elections attack the newly formed Socialist Party calling them Communists. Despite his attempts to weaken the party they did win seats in Congress during the election and the Libertarian Party lost 2 seats. But since the Moderates and Socialists could not agree to form a government Patrick was able to stay in power. He was however critized for his calls for a 2 party system to be created by the Constitution which would prevent new parties to be created. During his second term Patrick tried to ban the Socialist Party but gave up after the Moderates threatend to begin a vote of no confidence. After Luddes death Patrick made the mistake of saying Ludde was nothing but a pain which the nation would thrive without. This caused him to loose popularity. His party started calling for him to step down shortly thereafter in the hopes of finding a new leader that would be popular with the people. Patrick however refused to resign causing chaos. Once the elections came Patrick lost his majority and it was clear any party wanting to from a government would have to form a coalition. Patrick did not want to do this so he stepped down as leader of the Libertarian Party. He was removed as Chief of the Government of January 15 when the Triumvirate Government was appointed by Teddy.
Patrick did not leave politics though. He stayed in Congress and remained with the Libertarian Party. He has voted against the incumbent government ever since 2021 when they allowed the creation the position of Secretary of Sports.
