History
The Department was founded as the Hamsterland Department of the Interior on March 30, 2018 with Patrick Johnson as it's Secretary. It was put in charge of overseeing the other Departments and handeling questions regarding Internal Affairs. Under Johnson the Department secured itself the leading role beating the Department of Foreign Affairs. When Johnson was in charge the Department policy included things like low taxes, high funding for the Department of Security and expanding freedom of speech. The Libertarians lost the Department after the 2020 Chamber Election and were forced to give it to the Moderate Party and their leader Martin. Martins policy which the department currently uses includes slightly higher taxes for the low and middle classes, high funding for the Department of Security and making sure the nations political system stays the same.

The Secretary of Internal Affairs serves as the head of the Department of the Interior. A government level position, the Secretary is responsible for not only overseeing the Department of the Interior and the work of the other departments, but of reporting to the Deputy Chief Hamster, or if they are unavalible, directly to the Chief Hamster, about the governments progress and any changes in policy. The Secretary does this during weekly audiences with either the Deputy or Chief at their respective residences. Because of Johnson having made the Department the leading one, the secretary also chairs government meetings and has the power to remove any Secretary whenever they want.
