The Democratic Republic of Panera, more commonly known as Panera, is a micronation in North America . It was originally founded in December 2020 and has gone through multiple governments.

The nation has outlawed politics, believing that they cause needless division and that everyone should live in peace.

Etymology

People think that the name comes from the American Restaurant Chain of the same name, but there is no correlation.

History

The nation was originally founded in December 2020 as the Grand Republic of Pigiztan, in the future shifting to East Greenland, Poyais, Waluigia, Isolationistan, and then Panera. The nation fought many online wars and 2 in real life wars.

Politics and government

The nation is ruled by a king, but is fully democratic. The nation also believes in absolute freedom of religion. It is a federal law that no one be discriminated against based on race, religion, sexuality, age, gender, disability, or any other factor outside of one's control.

Early government

In the beginning of it's existance, it was a Democratic Socialist Republic. This was the case until it became isolationistan. When it was Isolationistan, the nation was Isolationist, like Switzerland but with no trade or relations. Immigration was prohibited but Emigration was allowed. After Isolationism, the nation shifted to a Centrist-influenced nation, with ties to Environmentalist ideas, like keeping the world clean and free of water and air pollution.

King

The king has the ability to mobilize the military, declare martial law, open and close borders, declare national emergencies, declare war, sentence people to jail time, and write treaties with other micronations.

Law and order

The National Guard volunteer corps acts as a police force, who are not armed and have radios to radio the military if something illegal is happening. The military will then dispatch personnel to take care of the situation. However, since Panera is not independent from the USA, it's citizens are still subject to all laws of the US government. The citizens cooperate nicely with the USA, and there have been no issues between the 2 nations.

Military

The military of Panera is relatively small, with only 1 personnel. There is only 1 branch, the Royal Army, with 5 components; the Army Air Force, the Army Ground Force, the Army Coast Guard, the Army Special Forces, and the Army Royal Guard. There is also a National guard force, but this force is not armed and carries radios, patrols the nation with a vast fleet of vehicles and report suspicious activity in to the military. If the situation is serious, the military gets involved. The military has not had to involve itself in any armed conflicts of recent history, but has engaged in online war with other micronations.
